Comments about BBC iPlayer Android Version
Auto play does not work when downloading episodes, this is a big thing when you are getting ready for a 4 hour drive with a 2 year old. Also if you have watched an episode before and rewatch it the recording starts with 3 minutes of the episode left. Issues need fixing as it's not worth using for the kids.
the shows are good and typically entertaining, but the apps UI leaves a lot to be desired. theres no option for autoplay when youre watching through old shows, it doesn't save it properly when youve finished an episode, so when you click back onto the show it takes you to the episode you were just on. also typically the first season of the show so you have to click through to the one youre watching. overall clunky and not very user friendly. oh well!
2024, some years since my last review and STILL the screen does not rotate. Still no option to view at a chosen bitrate (iPlayer consumes more data per minute viewed than any other streaming service) and STILL issues with broken downloads that restart from scratch rather than picking up from where they were interrupted. Like I said, it's 2024 and these basic functions should be par for the course for any streaming service, not basic functions that have yet to be fixed.

What is an XAPK file, and what should I do if the BBC iPlayer I downloaded is an XAPK file?
Open up
A file with .xapk extension is a compressed package file. It is a container file format that incorporates APK and additional associated files required for the installation.
The XAPK format was introduced to package the APK file and OBB file together for a seamless delivery and installation process.
XAPK format can help reduce the package size of application.
On mobile phones, users need to install the XAPK installer first, and then install XAPK files through that installer. You can find the installer here:https://apkcombo.com/how-to-install/. But on PC client, you just need to put the file on LDPlayer.
