BenderPro Inclinometer Description
As a conduit bending angle indicator, BenderPro is designed to work with a smartphone that has a secure magnetic cradle. The cradle is magnetically attached to the metallic top of a BenderPro insert that protrudes from the open end of the conduit bender. The insert is designed to accommodate 1/2", 3/4", and 1" conduit benders. It may be purchased in-app for a nominal cost. Alternatively, inserts may be fabricated from simple hardware parts.
To use the BenderPro app, one enters a desired angle, then clicks the "Set Angle" button. When this is done, the button displays "Angle Set," the haptic feedback (when approaching the bend angle) is activated, and the chime may be set. Alternatively, no angle need be entered if neither haptic feedback nor a chime are desired when making simple bends.
If desired, the timer may be activated. The timer begins counting until it is reset - even across multiple bends and data resets. The chime sounds when the bend angle reaches two degrees of the desired angle. A click of the AC button resets the screen, although not the timer.
When ready to bend conduit, hook the conduit with the conduit bender and click the "Zero Out" button. The left display will now reflect the angle of the conduit as it is bent. The conduit is now bent to the desired angle. If an angle was previously set, and the chime is activated, BenderPro will announce when it is 2-degrees from the desired angle.
As an inclinometer, the BenderPro can stand alone, and requires no magnetic cradle or mount. Simply open the BenderPro app and lay your device, face-up, on any angled surface. Then click the "Zero Out" button and that angle is now considered zero degrees. Now, adjust your device to the new angle, ensuring that the device aligns in the same direction as before. The readout on the left screen is the angular difference between the first and second angle.
