Combined with an active BMW ConnectedDrive subscription or the Mini Connected option, this project adds most of the features of Android Auto to your car as unofficial BMW/Mini Connected Apps:

🎵 See music apps on your phone as media sources in IDrive

🎙️ Interact with voice assistants installed on your phone

🔔 Read, listen and interact with notifications through the car's controls

📅 View your calendar in the car and start navigating to appointments

🗺️ Trigger car navigation from phone apps

👀 Read various diagnostic info and statistics from your car

🧩 Extend capabilities through optional add-ons (such as screen mirroring)

🚧 Custom map and navigation based on Mapbox

✨ By using the native BMW Apps protocol, exactly like the old Spotify app, this app does not modify your car in any way, and all of the extended capabilities are only provided while your phone is connected.

⚠️ BMW/Mini Connected Apps requires that the MyBMW or MINI app for your car is installed and that it can successfully enable your IDrive5+ car's Apps checkbox, or that your IDrive4 car has the ConnectedDrive Connection Assistant option. This usually requires having an active BMW ConnectedDrive subscription, which is typically included for a few years after you bought your new car.

Does what it says on the tin and excellently I might add. I'd like more functionality though but works better than anything else. I do have a few minor beefs: it requires the MyBMW app, for some reason it's showing my ID as ID5 instead of ID6 and some apps in the car "smartphone apps" menu have no names (the "custom map" for ex.) but all things considered - it works.

Was slightly skeptical that this app would work! But it actually does work. Had recently upgraded my head unit and screen to include apple car play (for the work phone) was miffed i couldn't control Spotify or see the art work whilst connecting my android device this has solved the problem. This app paired with the My BMW or MINI app will talk to each other and add the Spotify or amazon music apps to your media menu on your BMW/MINI Would recommend definitely recommend this app

Like others I very rarely ever leave reviews for apps. Being an android user I've been frustrated at the lack of functionality in my mini clubman when compared with my daughter's iPhone which can connect through apple car play. While not quite the same full experience that apple carplay gives you this app has transformed my use of apps such as Spotify when driving. Thanks for filling a gap car manufacturers don't seem bothered with 😊
