Overall, app is pretty good. I don't use it for notifications, because my phone would never stop notifying me of triggers. I use it strictly to check live feed on a regular basis for a few minutes at a time. Cameras are setup with BI on a dedicated PC. Checking camera feed through web interface works, but is a pain because of difference when in network or out roaming. The app was worth the money, but could be better. Also, manual setup didn't work out for me, but the remote access wizard worked
I love Blue Iris and when this app is working, it is exceptional. The problem is that is rarely works. I know its not by back-end video server. I can patch into it using the web interface with ease and without fail every time. I know its not my phone. I have the latest Samsung every year. With this app, it works intermittently. Sometimes I receive snapshots of alerts, most of the time I don't. Connecting from notifications is useless. It almost never works. I have to disconnect, reconnect to get it to work again. I would be helping friends and family get onto the Blue Iris System if the mobile app worked better. I have been using it for almost 2 years and it just seems to be getting worse not better.
Great bit of desktop software, however the android app is slightly clunky. Trying to scroll to a point in a recorded video is like trying to thread a needle at 90mph, and then when you get there it randomly decides to throw you back to the start of that "clip" - infuriating doesn't describe it. Having said that, the main thing I use the android app for is checking in on the dog while I'm out, and it does that just fine.
