Engross: ADHD Focus Timer Description
Do you struggle with executive dysfunction, time blindness, or the constant "procrastination loop"? Engross isn’t just another productivity app—it’s a dedicated workspace designed to help you work with your brain, not against it.
By combining a Pomodoro-inspired Focus Timer with a Progressive To-Do List and App Blocker, Engross provides the external structure needed to initiate tasks, sustain attention, and finally finish what you start.
🧠 Why Engross is Different for ADHD: Most apps assume you’re already organized. Engross assumes you’re overwhelmed. Our unique ‘Hit me when you are distracted’ button is a science-backed mindfulness tool. It doesn't just track time; it helps you build the "focus muscle" by gently pulling your brain back to the present moment without the guilt.
⏱️ Core Features for Deep Work:
Combat Time Blindness
• Flexible Pomodoro Timer: Customize work and break intervals to fit your energy cycles (up to 180-minute sessions).
• Visual Time Tracking: Use the Stopwatch or Timer to make time "tactile," helping you transition between tasks without the usual panic.
• Integrated Sessions: Start a timer directly from your To-Do list. No friction, no app-switching, just focus.
• Session Tagging: Tag sessions with labels and keep track of where your time goes.
End Task Paralysis
• Progressive To-Do List: Don't just list tasks—track them with a progress tracker. Break big, scary projects into small, "dopamine-friendly" sub-tasks.
• Flexible Recurring Tasks: Set reminders for "alternate days" or "twice a week" to fit your actual routine, not a rigid 9-to-5.
• Smart Reminders: Get notified up to 24 hours in advance to prep your brain for upcoming transitions.
Silence the Digital Noise
• App Whitelist: Automatically block distracting apps (Social Media, Games) the moment your timer starts.
• Focus White Noise: Built-in ambient sounds to help you enter a "Flow State" instantly and drown out environmental distractions.
📅 A Planner That Actually Works
• Zero-Overwhelm Calendar: Plan your day from morning coffee to deep work blocks in a neat, simple interface.
• Routine Builder: Create recurring events to automate your habits and reduce the cognitive load of "deciding" what to do next.
📊 Visual Progress & Insights
• Dopamine-Friendly Analytics: See your focus trends and peak performance times through 7 detailed charts.
• Session History: Understand exactly where your time goes and celebrate the "Deep Work" hours you’ve reclaimed.
Perfect for:
• Students: Crush assignments and study for exams without the last-minute panic.
• Remote Workers & Freelancers: Create structure in a flexible world and track client hours with ease.
• The Neurodivergent Community: A low-clutter, high-support tool for ADHD and executive function challenges.
Stop managing your time. Start mastering your focus. Join thousands of users who use Engross to beat procrastination and get things done, one session at a time.

Comments about Engross: ADHD Focus Timer Android Version
This app is amazing. I've tried a lot of different focus apps, trying to find what's right for me and this won. There are so many features that this app has & most of it is free except for some color themes & a couple more advanced options. There's a to-do list that is really helpful & you can even put your tasks in order of priority. There aren't any ads & it's a simple yet effective design. You can set the timer to pomodoro or stopwatch which was really helpful for me. I highly recommend!
The app is almost perfect. But the sub tasks and comments are not regarded in the history section. Also, task names should be like labels by which you can sort in history section. I would also like a more elaborate way to choose what happens when you say, pause a running task. Maybe it should discard the pause if it's less than a minute; otherwise, it should just start a new run for each pause. It would also be nice to include seconds along with hours and minutes to prevent certain anomalies.
The pro version is only $1.99 so a person can't complain. It does seem like all the features of person would actually use are in that pro version. It would be nice to have a free trial. I really liked being able to divide each task into self labeled parts. However, the slider underneath the task is not easy to advance. I kept trying to mark off a section completed and it kept checking the task as done. The statistics page on how often I was distracted could be a great tool.
