FlyTools: Aviation Calculator for Pressure Altitude, Density Altitude & Weight and Balance
FlyTools started as a tool I made for myself to simplify aviation calculations, and now I’ve decided to publish it. Right now, it offers two key features, but I have more plans for future updates.
Current Features:
Pressure Altitude & Density Altitude Calculator
You can input the current QNH/Altimeter value, altitude, and temperature, and FlyTools will instantly calculate both Pressure Altitude and Density Altitude. It also handles basic unit conversions, such as feet to meters, Celsius to Fahrenheit, and hPa to inHg.
Weight & Balance Calculator with Visualization
FlyTools lets you create a list of airplanes with their weight and balance data. You can add weight items like Basic Empty Weight, Pilot, Passengers, Luggage, Fuel, etc., and assign the respective arm and moment. After defining the aircraft’s weight and balance envelope, you can input the current weight values for your flight. FlyTools will instantly calculate the total weight and balance, and display a visual chart to ensure your aircraft stays within the defined envelope.
Future Plans:
I have a lot more features planned for future updates and intend to turn FlyTools into a versatile aviation tool — my personal Swiss Army knife for aviation tasks. For now, these are the features included, with much more on the way!
