Knanaya Description

This app called Knanaya (only 5.48 MB) is a hand book for the knanaya community. It includes a small history of knanaya migration to Kerala and a small description about the origin and history of the Archdiocese of Kottayam.

The main intension behind this app is to spread the lyrics of the knanya folk songs and marriage songs among the members of Knanaya community. It also contains certain prayers that are used by the Knanaites on particular occasions and many other regular prayers.

In the purathanappattu section, you can see the lyrics of knanaya folk and marriage songs, Church songs (pallippattukal), margamkali songs and certain syriac songs that are used regularly by the Knanaya community.

To get the tune of songs audio files are attached that can be played with internet connection. Some of the audio files are not complete and not correspond with the lyrics (eg: Kottayam pattanam) because the lyrics are from ancient books and there are no corresponding audio files available. After all the audio files are just for getting the tune. The length of the lines of song lyrics may vary in accordance with the screen size of the phone and if so use the phone in landscape mode.

In another section the knanaya app explains all the customs (marriage & other) followed by the Knanaya community. It helps one to follow these customs accurately in marriages and other occasions, thus to keep the tradition and unity of the knanaya community.

Note:
-Knanaya app shows few problems in some phones that have a lower version of Android (Android 5 and above are recommended).

-Knanaya app asks permission to access photos, media contents and files on your device. But it is not necessary to allow. You can deny this permission.

-Knanya app is an offline app. (Need internet to play audio files)
