Slank is one of the senior bands in the country. This band was founded on December 26 1983 in Jakarta and underwent repeated formation changes (recorded up to 14 times). However, since 1997, Slank, whose members are Kaka (Akhadi Wira Satriaji/vocals), Bimbim (Bimo Setiawan Almachzumi/drums), Ridho (Muhammad Ridwan Hafiedz/guitar), Abdee (Abdee Negara Nurdin/guitar) and Ivanka (bassist), have not replaced its formation continues to this day. The name Slank was chosen because people called them a "slengekan" band. But unexpectedly, this name actually put Slank in the ranks of Indonesia's top bands. (1993), "Generation Blue" (1995), "Minoritas" (1996), "Lagi Sad" (1996), "Seven" (1997), "Eye of the Heart of Reformation" (1998), "999+09" (1999 ), "Virus" (2001), "One One" (2003), "Pirate" (2003), "Road to Peace" (2004), "P.L.U.R" (2005), "Slankkissme" (2006) and "Slow But Sure" (2007).
Slank got the opportunity to go international after sending a demo recording to Studio City Sound in 2006. They finally succeeded in releasing their first international album, "Anthem For The Broken Hearted - USA Edition", in America. Slank also collaborated with the Japanese band, The Big Hip and produced a second international album, "Slank feat. Big Hip-Japanesse Edition" (2008). Apart from that, Slank also contributed several times to the world of film by contributing original soundtracks. Some of them are the films "Get Married" (2007), "Generation Blue The Movie" (2009) and "Get Married 2" (2009).
