OLEDBuddy Description

Images with true blacks are great for OLED (including AMOLED) screens, as those pixels are actually off! This gives slightly better battery life, and brilliantly inky blacks.

With OLEDBuddy, you can easily open an image, view which pixels are true black, what percentage of all pixels are true black, and if necessary, easily convert lower valued pixels to true black.

The conversion is tunable by simply tapping the image to choose a threshold pixel, or by using three sliders, to control the threshold for Red, Green, and Blue values that will get dropped to 0, and a live preview is shown before choosing to save.

Once saved, you can easily open, share, and set as wallpaper from the notification.

Comments about OLEDBuddy Android Version

Hands down one of the best apps I've ever used. So easy, so fast, no ads.. a pleasure to use & the results are great. I downloaded some OLED wallpapers & could tell one wasn't true black. Found this app & within seconds of installing had loaded the picture, found out it was 0% black, and fixed it to over 80% black! Decided to do every pic & ones I could have sworn were black weren't & vice versa.. this app is a must! Only complaint- too hard to make you take my money, but found on Reddit :)
It's really good, it would be nice to have a feature to see the before and after when changing the sliders. Some apps do it by holding down on the picture to see the before. Some do it with a slider you can move to see half before and half after. Also the ability to mask part of the image to not be affected by the sliders
This software scans images, tells you the percentage of 'pure black' and then allows you to adjust it. Pure black saves battery power for OLED screens, and simply enriches the images. I was pleasantly surprised to find a free app that does this without hassle, which is rare on the Play Store nowadays. Cheers!
