The School of Mathematics was born out of the need for effective action to improve the teaching and learning of mathematics in Brazil. The percentages of failure in mathematics, at the national level, are very high. The School of Mathematics Program, coordinated by Prof. doctor João Carlos Moreira, associate professor at the Federal University of Uberlândia, offers a series of opportunities for the student or professor to improve their learning, articulating Teaching, Research and Extension in a planned way. The Program began with the creation of the Calculus School in 2013, and has effectively contributed to the quality of Teaching and Learning of Mathematics at the Pontal Campus of the Federal University of Uberlândia in the city of Ituiutaba-MG and in several other cities in Brazil .
