The Portuguese-Spanish border, established for posterity by the Treaty of Alcanizes in 1297, is the oldest border line in the world.

There are about 1319 km, from Caminha to Castro Marim, in a continuous line drawn by rivers (wet streak) and by prominent relief points (dry streak), which form the Raia / Raya.
