Using it with USB-C, which is USB 3, gives smooth playback, with very little input lag. Watching YouTube or Netflix this way is also very good. The only issue is that it does use a lot of your GPU processing power, with usage sitting at 50%+. This makes it difficult to recommend for using it as a secondary monitor to watch video on whilst gaming, as it causes your frames to drop significantly, depending on the graphical requirements of the game. Minecraft with shaders turned on drops the frames from 60+fps to 40+fps. The GPU usage doesn't scale, meaning, if you lower the resolution displayed on the tablet, the GPU usage still remains high, so I suspect that there could be some tweaking left to do with the PC server. Settings the performance in the app alongside dropping the resolution still gets the same GPU usage. This is of course if getting less than 60fps constantly is unplayable for you. So personal preference. This could be why a lot of people are having problems, as integrated graphics will struggle, especially if you have older hardware. Combine that with a USB 2 cable, then it would be a nightmare. The software on the PC side has a nice UI, and is easy to use and follow, as is the software on the tablet. It's honestly great. You DO have to know a little bit about USB2 vs USB3 max data rates if you don't want to crash the display every 5 seconds (don't attempt to use 1080p on USB 2.0) and I saw no mention of that in the desktop app, but it functions as intended as long as your hardware can take it. I was able to turn my Nexus 7 tablet into a 1080p display and it's smooth-as-butter even at full quality. If it continues to work as intended, I'd say it's well worth the $8.99.
