UPC-A Validator Description
UPC-A Validator is primarily designed to verify the check digit and generate a barcode image.
The barcode verification app is very easy to use. Simply enter your UPC-A barcode (12 digits) and press the "Verify" button to view its information. You will get the Check Digit (highlighted in red) and have the option to copy or share it. The corresponding UPC-A barcode will also be generated, which you can easily share.
Important Information: Structure and Components
The most common UPC code is UPC-A, consisting of twelve (12) digits and divided into four parts:
• Numeric System Digit (1 digit): This first digit indicates the product category. For example, standard products usually begin with "0," "1," "6," "7," and "8," while coupons may start with "5."
• Manufacturer Code (5 digits): These five digits identify the product's manufacturer. This code is assigned by GS1, a global standards organization.
• Product Code (5 digits): These five digits identify the specific product within the manufacturer's catalog. Each product variant (e.g., different sizes or colors) will have a unique product code.
• Check Digit (1 digit): This final digit is used to verify the accuracy of the barcode. It is calculated using a specific algorithm and helps ensure the barcode has been scanned correctly.
App Features:
• Verify the Check Digit of a UPC-A barcode.
• Generate a barcode based on a UPC-A code.
