WAMC Description

WAMC/Northeast Public Radio is a regional public radio network serving parts of seven states. These include New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont, New Jersey, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania. Stations and translators are in twenty locations throughout the region. Alan Chartock is President and CEO of the network. Our studios and offices are located at 318 Central Avenue in Albany, NY.

WAMC/Northeast Public Radio is a member of National Public Radio and an affiliate of Public Radio International. Financial support comes from listeners who contribute annually in fund drives and other appeals as well as from underwriting by businesses, grant support for WAMC's National Productions and governmental sources such as the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and the New York State Education Department.

WAMC/Northeast Public Radio operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year thanks to a very dedicated group of board members, staff, interns and volunteers.

Pros- 15 second rewind and fast forward buttons. Con- Fails to open periodically and i have to uninstall and reinstall. If i pause a podcast, generally when i resume play it starts from the beginning instead. Update 9/11/23: this app just gets worse - frequently can't start the Roundtable, which is predominately why I use it. Uninstall/ reinstall used to work but even that stopped. This is the show & podcast that keeps me supporting WAMC. Perhaps its time to stop that.

Love the station. But the app has issues. You would think for the success during fund drives they would get the app to work well. 1:Crashes. Have to Uninstall then Reinstall. 2:Podcasts don't pick up where left off and or doesn't have any way to forward or reverse.

I'm not having any of the problems others claim to have encountered. I enjoy nice, dependable service on my Samsung smart-phone in any high speed wi-fi environment. In other situations the app pauses for downloads. I also watch WAMC's daily morning video feed using my computer. I would enjoy doing that with my phone should you ever decide to offer that service.
