The game is fun. The gimmick makes it stand out, and the great execution convinces you to stay. But for someone who plays a lot of rhythm games, the Rating system is very harsh. The game expects all the scores you submit to be your best performance, and this judgement encourages players to back out of songs at the last minute to avoid getting docked for points, forgoing any completion reward and xp gain. I suggest adding Kalpa's system, which allows you to lock your rating at any time.

This game actually uses your device's gyroscope like it's a steering wheel, which is a pretty cool gimmick. I've played many rhythm games (Arcaea, Phigros, WACCA, etc.) and this game has become one of my all-time favorites. I love the songs and charting. The story is pretty sweet too. Overall, Rotaeno is one of the more unique mobile rhythm games you can play right now, and it's worth to buy it.

Tied with Cytus 2 for my top favorite rhythm games available on Android as of early 2024. Cytus 2 has been around long enough to have a more deeply-developed story and variety of free/affordable good-sounding and well-charted songs by now. But Rotaeno's controls seem just plain more fun, at least for thumbs-only handheld play. I'm hoping development continues enough for Rotaeno to offer as much free and better-discounted DLC as Cytus 2 has.
