ما هي تحية المسجد الحرام Description
Many people ask about the greeting of the Sacred Mosque, if it differs from the greeting of entering the rest of the mosques, which is represented by a two-rak’ah prayer, and the jurists mentioned two cases of greeting the mosque.
It was proven from the Messenger of God - may God’s prayers and peace be upon him - that he used to say if he went to the prayer: (O God, make a light in my heart, and in my tongue a light, and make in my hearing light, and make in my eyes a light, and make a light, Light, and from beneath me is light, O God, give me light). It is worth mentioning that this supplication is said when entering any mosque, not just the Grand Mosque
If the Muhrim enters Makkah Al-Mukarramah, then he circumambulates the Kaaba seven times if it is possible for him to do so, which is the greeting of the Sacred Mosque, after which he prays two rak’ahs and then sits down, which is what the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, did. Because he feels a lack of activity, he can only pray two rak’ahs, greeting the Sacred Mosque, because the obligatory circumambulation is the arrival circumambulation, the farewell circumambulation, and the circumambulation that comes after descending from Mount Arafah. As for other circumambulation, it is desirable and not obligatory.
