My favorite way to play chess online by far, but I've recently been having issues trying to screen record my online games on my phone. My recordings are fine as long as I'm simply navigating the app or even playing against the computer, but when I boot up any online game the whole screen goes black until the game ends. (Audio still works fine.) Same issue occurrs when trying to stream on Twitch. Already submitted a report to the support team, if this could get fixed I would def give 5 stars
Same aesthetic as the desktop website, but formatted specifically for mobile. In my opinion, this is a good thing and works very nicely. There are bugs here and there, but nothing serious enough to interrupt gameplay (for me at least). However, one notable negative I have is that the "Settings" page is a bit difficult to navigate for newer users. On a more positive note, there are a lot of theme options that allow you to fully customize gameplay (the looks of the board, pieces, backdrop, etc).
Fantastic app that has taken me from slightly advanced beginner to moderate skill level. I use the free version but I maximize my learning by taking advantage of all the features whenever I can: the daily puzzle, three additional puzzles every day, and a weekly lesson. I tried 8 other chess apps. This one, hands down. I did submit a couple suggestions on how to improve the app, but those are minor tweaks focused on learning that, without, doesn't take away from the experience by any means.
