In Dagelijkse Woordzoeker, players will see a small grid of letters, usually 5x5 or 6x6. The game may or may not be time-limited, depending on how it is played. The player's goal is to find and mark all the words hidden in the letter grid within the time allotted or before the end of the game.
Search words are usually randomly selected from a database, and they can be sorted by difficulty ranging from easy to difficult. A list of searchable words is usually displayed next to the letter grid, helping players track their progress and found words.
