The Tour de Suisse 2023 will once again be a fantastic challenge. Only the best climbers will have a say in the overall victory. For the first time in the brief history of the Tour de Suisse Women, the race will be held at the highest level – UCI Women’s World Tour.
The 2023 Tour de Suisse is a road cycling stage race that will take place between 11 and 18 June 2023 in Switzerland. It will be the 86th edition of the Tour de Suisse and the 24th event of the 2023 UCI World Tour.
All eighteen UCI WorldTeams are joined by five UCI ProTeams to make up the twenty-three teams that are participating in the race.
From the 11th to the 18th of June the World Tour peloton races Switzerland's main race. It is the Tour de Suisse, which features eight stages that fits all types of riders and is the final main race before the Tour de France.
The 8 stages provides many different challenges. The race starts and ends with individual time-trials, features one day that is certain to be for the sprinters, two mixed days where breakaways and puncheurs also have their own chances, and three mountain stages where the climbers will be showing off their climbing abilities.
The Tour de Suisse starts off with a short time-trial with 12.7 kilometers in distance. It'll open up the overall classification, as well as providing a big opportunity for the specialists and an early opportunity to grab the race lead.
There isn't much to analyze from this day, it's a rather simple route fit for the powerhouse riders (the small gradients in the profile above feature an error at the start due to GPS data). 12 kilometers which are mostly without any corner that needs breaking, the final 3 kilometers do feature a few gradients which could see the riders saving up a bit, as the stage may be decided by mere seconds.

The 86th edition of the Tour de Suisse, June , begins in central Switzerland before heading westward to Fribourg, Vaud and Valais regions. The Queen Stage, on the fifth day features the Alpine crossings of Furka, Oberalp and Albula.
The route will then move eastward to the Thurgau and St. Gallen regions for the two final stages, ending the eight-day race with a time trial. The race divvies out plenty of climbing – more than 18,000 metres over 1097 kilometres in eight days.
Stage 2 heads to the Mittelland for a hilly 174km circuit between Beromünster and Nottwil. However, as is often the case in Switzerland, sprinter stage or not, the terrain is not completely flat. In addition to speed, riders must overcome a total of 1,890 metres in altitude before they can fight for the stage win.
Stage 3 with 2677 metres of climbing, the first stage in the French-speaking region of Switzerland, will provide the first mountain finish of the Tour de Suisse 2023. After the start in Tafers, the category 1 Col des Mosses is the first major obstacle of the day. The final climb to Villars-sur-Ollon is that the real test comes at the end of the 144km stage.
