VCMI is an open-source engine that aims to provide the full original experience of Heroes of Might and Magic 3, as well as optional enhancements and mods for a refreshing change of pace.

With VCMI you can:

Some limitations exist in the current VCMI that will be improved in the future releases:

The AI has been written from scratch and can make mistakes that are not seen in the base game.
The AI does not go through one-way portals. Custom maps that rely on this mechanic will not function properly.
Some popular mod features are not fully implemented. Do not expect the same HoTA and WoG experience in VCMI as desktop versions.
