Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawi is considered one of the most famous interpreters of the Noble Qur’an in the modern era, as he interpreted it in easy and more colloquial ways, to reach the largest segment of Muslims throughout the Arab world.
Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawy was born on April 15, 1911 in the village of Daqadous, Mit Ghamr Center, Dakahlia Governorate, and memorized the Noble Qur’an at the age of eleven. In the year 1916 A.D., Muhammad Al-Sha'rawi joined the Al-Zagazig Primary Institute, Al-Azhar, and showed genius from an early age in his memorization of poetry and traditional sayings.
He memorized the Qur’an at the age of eleven, and at the same age he joined the Zagazig Institute of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif.
He graduated in 1940 AD, and obtained a global diploma with a teaching license in 1943 AD. After his graduation, Al-Shaarawi was appointed to the religious institute in Tanta, then he moved after that to the religious institute in Zagazig, then to the religious institute in Alexandria.
